Guided Tule Elk Hunts on Peachtree Ranch
California is the only state where Tule elk occur naturally, making this a hunt found nowhere else. Central Coast Outfitters guides bull and cow hunts on Rancho San Lorenzo Peachtree, commonly called Peachtree Ranch, approximately 12 miles east of King City in Southern Monterey County.
Each hunt is led by a professional guide who knows the ranch’s terrain and elk behavior. We scout extensively before and during the season to understand herd movement, water use, feeding areas, and rut activity. Bull hunts allow five days, giving your guide time to adjust as conditions change instead of forcing the hunt into a rushed schedule.

Your guided hunt includes
-
Professional guide service on private ranch land
-
Extensive pre-hunt and in-season scouting
-
Up to five days for each bull hunt

Tag availability, hunt dates, and package details vary. Contact Central Coast Outfitters for current pricing and exact inclusions before booking travel.
Why Peachtree Ranch Is a Special Place to Hunt Tule Elk
Peachtree Ranch is more than a hunting property. The approximately 50,000-acre historic Spanish rancho sits east of King City, hidden behind the Gabilan Range. Its green hills, open country, lakes, ponds, oak cover, and water sources create varied habitat for California wildlife.
The ranch is also tied to the recovery of Tule elk. After the subspecies came close to extinction, cattlemen associated with Miller and Lux helped preserve some of the remaining animals. Today, careful wildlife management allows a limited number of hunters to pursue Tule elk on a ranch connected to their survival.
This combination of private access, productive habitat, conservation history, and limited tags makes Peachtree Ranch one of Central Coast Outfitters’ defining California hunts.
How California Tule Elk Tags Work
California elk tags are tightly controlled. Hunters may pursue elk through the state drawing or through qualifying private-land programs. Central Coast Outfitters receives a limited allocation of landowner tags for both bulls and cows, allowing clients to reserve a guided Peachtree Ranch hunt without relying only on the standard public drawing.
Private Lands Management participation connects hunting opportunity to active habitat management. Landowners work with CDFW biologists and complete approved wildlife-management work; qualifying properties may receive a limited number of tags and potentially expanded season dates. Learn more from the official CDFW Private Lands Management program.
Tags remain limited and can sell out well before the season. Availability is not guaranteed until your hunt and tag arrangements are confirmed.
